Simon Piluski, Founder and Owner

Owner and Solar Electrician Simon was one of Vermont’s first certified solar electricians, and is a true solar expert. He was born and raised in Westminster West, Vermont. He discovered his ability and love for electrical work in high school while working with a neighbor who was transforming his traditional sugaring operation into a modern maple syrup production. Simon graduated from Marlboro College with honors with a Bachelor of Science. He was working as an electrician in 2000 when his passion for solar was ignited. He built  an off grid home for his family, became NABCEP certified, and started a small electrical and solar business before becoming the Lead Designer and solar electrician for SOVEREN Solar. He and his wife started Southern Vermont Solar in 2017 with the dream to provide green, local jobs while offering a cost effective solar option to their community. Simon lives with his wife and two daughters in Westminster.

Victoria Roberts, Founder and Owner

Victoria is Southern Vermont Solar’s business manager and administrator. Victoria grew up around the world, but settled in Vermont after attending S.I.T. where she received a Master’s in Education. She taught Middle and HIgh School at The Compass School prior to working with Southern Vermont Solar. She is a community builder, and enjoys working with others to make positive change. She lives with her husband, SImon, and their two daughters in Westminster, VT.

Chad Ives

Chad is Southern Vermont Solar’s engineer and ground mount project manager. Chad graduated from Vermont Technical College in 2006, having earned his Bachelor of Science in Electro-Mechanical engineering and maintaining the top GPA for his graduating class. He started his career as a research and development Engineer, designing and building battery operated devices for military applications. In 2013 he switched his focus to construction and project management rounding his skills in both commercial and residential construction projects. Chad joined Southern Vermont Solar in 2017 and has been applying his experience and leadership abilities building and managing our projects. He lives in Dummerston and enjoys ice fishing and hunting.


Brian Wickline

Brian is Southern Vermont Solar’s lead roof installer. Brian grew up in Bellows Falls and Rutland, and worked for both DC Solar and PV Squared before joining our team. He comes with a range of skills including carpentry, electrical skills, and roof work. Brian also enjoys making bread and growing food, and lives with his partner and three young children in Westminster West.

Hector Lopez

Hector is Southern Vermont Solar’s wire management specialist, and he has been working with Simon installing solar for ten years.  He has a degree in Arts and Spanish and studied Permaculture in 2004. Since then he has developed programs in rural communities in Mexico and Waldorf and Montessori schools. He likes to play music and lead expeditions into the mountains, having been an instructor for Outward Bound. He lives in Westminster with his wife and two step sons.

Adam Bozetarnik

Adam is Southern Vermont Solar’s lead construction PV installer and excavator operator. He received his B.A. from Castleton State College. He lives with his family in Dummerston, Vermont, and enjoys hunting and fishing.


Jonathan Wood

Jonathan is Southern Vermont Solar’s local business developer, helping Southern Vermont Solar’s vision of a thriving solar community come to light. Jonathan went to Marlboro College, graduating with a BA in Contemplative Studies, focusing on the intersection of psychology, religion, spirituality and education. In 2005 he became the business developer and manager of Sunreed Instruments and The Center of Light, connecting meditative practitioners to sound tools that could help strengthen their practice. Now, Jonathan brings his passion for helping others into solar, searching for accessible ways for local Vermonters to transition to clean energy. He lives in Westminster West with his two children and wife.
